For those of us that grew up in the city or suburbs we don’t often think about how our basic needs are met. We don’t realise how dependent we are on large scale, energy intensive systems for food, water, waste and power.

Permaculture implores us to think a little differently and gives us strategies to restore resiliency in our homes and backyards. Little do we know that we can provide for our needs, create energy and heal the environment all at the same time. All we need is a little imagination.
